I recognize that every individual has the right to complain and feel the way they do. And I really like being the person that everybody comes to.. I do. But one of the things that has gotten to me recently, and it’s not about anything heavy either, is complaining about driving…. about how they hate how their parents can ask them to come home at any time since they drive.. about this, and that.. about driving.
My complaint? About NOT being able to drive. I am learning to do the bus routes and it’s making it a little more tolerable. But what about those times (and believe me they are frequent) that the bus doesn’t come on time, or its pouring rain, or miserably hot? I don’t have the option to “just drive.” I can call somebody to pick me up but I hate relying on people for rides all the time. I have some pretty terrific friends that are great to me and help, but still…
Like one of my visually impaired friends was telling me the other day… if we want to do something “on a whim” it usually takes up the whole day because of public transportation. It stinks.
Short rant, but I just had to get it out there.. and hopefully give some of you something to think about. Also, as a disclaimer, please feel free to share with me these thoughts every now and then.. but when you tell me it so often, it kind of gets annoying.
