L, from Guide Dogs for the Blind, came out yesterday. You will recall that Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) has campus’ in Oregon and California. My preference if I go to GDB is California but really, I’ll take either. I’ve never been to either so it would be neat and new either way. The home visit was pretty enjoyable. We talked a lot, went on a walk with just me and my cane, went on a Juno walk, and then went back to the apartment. She says she thinks I will be a good candidate for a Guide Dog and she will go back to her office and type up the report, much like the instructor from The Seeing Eye said he’d do.
There’s just something about GDB that gives me a good vibe. It may be that one of my best friends is a graduate from there and I know several Guide Dog handlers that went through that program, but I think there’s something else. It is also 2 weeks which is a lot more manageable with my schedule and life. So… we’ll see. 🙂 Now, the hard part– waiting for the acceptance letters.
